Industrail Revolution. Batch 13 - The Off Cut.

My first project when returning to my second year at college was based on -  The Industrial Revolution...
I began by doing a ot of research into all areas and factors of the revolution including :
Constructed textures created at this time.
Machinery and materials used at this time.
Shapes and structure used in garments wore.
I then explored muti-media to create art from my research...going on to design a 16 piece collection adding a constructed fabric within each design...constructing my final design into an outfit with an accessory.
My final design...

I produced a sample book and toile for my final design.....

I then created my final garments ......
the corset ...

the knitted skirt....

the bussel....

the headdress......

and accessories....

After creating my final outfit I decided to produce a photo shoot to showcase my outfit into a final outcome.... I chose my location- the Bristol Docks to link in with my brief...... I also set up a photographer and another model to complement my outfit...... These are the photographic outcomes.....

Evaluating the photo shoot I would say that choosing your model carefully to complement your look...... I chose Rahda she has confidence and a strong facial look..... she was enthusiastic and willing to listen to constructive criticism and advice.... this made the shoot successful and fun.
The only thing I would change is the other model..... she was very inexperienced and didn't have a lot of confidence.... feeling uncomfortable in front of the camera shows up in final photos and working the camera is essential.
